LifeStar Update!
Our plan to move LifeStar to the Corry-LawrenceAirport has been delayed. The site design has been approved and contractor estimates for utility work has been received. The Bureau of Aviation must make final approval via FAA Form 7460. This form was submitted several weeks ago and we anxiously await their approval.
The LifeStar airframe is in Pittsburgh undergoing a thorough inspection and upgrades via STATMedevac’s prestigious maintenance team. We are hoping to have our aircraft back in service sometime later in January 2010. In the meantime, STAT has provided us with an EC-145 (similar model to LifeStar) until our aircraft returns.
If you listen to the scanner or call our LifeStar quarters, you’ll notice a change in our greeting. “LifeStar-Medevac 17” is our new title as we strive to maintain our identity and also proudly display our partnership with STATMedevac.
