In December 2009, EmergyCare, in partnership with Central Tech Career and Technical school started a Co-Op program for students enrolled in the School District’s Protective Services Program. We welcomed Ryan, already trained as an EMT, as our first co-op student.

Eligible seniors in the program apply for a position at EmergyCare as a Co-Op student/Employee. Applicants undergo an actual interview and orientation just as if they were hired as a regular employee and then work as a 3rd person in an ambulance, alongside EmergyCare Field Training Officers, learning to assess and properly care for patients in a variety of emergency situations.

This on-the-job training prepares these students for a career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and makes them eligible for an entry level position as an EmergyCare EMT.

We are proud to announce that Ryan recently completed his Co-Op training and has been asked to join the EmergyCare team as a part-time EMT!
