AEMT-Blended Distance Learning
Advanced EMTs Provide basic prehospital emergency care to the sick and injured and transports emergency and non-emergency patients safely and efficiently to appropriate medical facilities. The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician evaluates the patient, relays pertinent information to the appropriate medical facilities, and may be required to implement appropriate medical interventions from PA DOH State Protocols and medical command physician orders. The AEMT works closely with the EMT, Paramedic, and other AEMTs in providing effective and efficient patient care following established protocols and by performing the following duties.
EmergyCare's A-EMT-B Programs are taught in partnership with the EmergyCare EMS Training Institute. The EmergyCare Distance Learning AEMT Programs combine in-person lab instruction with state-of-the-art video conferencing technology that allows face-to-face learning. In addition, students can attend a live synchronous PA Dept. of Health approved distance learning AEMT training courses for certification at a local meeting place in their community.

The Consortium Hybrid Distance Learning Paramedic Program is a shortened paramedic training program designed for individuals 18 years of age or older who have either completed an EmergyCare Advanced EMT training course OR have a current Commonwealth of Pennsylvania-issued Advanced EMT certification. The program is 105, four (4) hour class sessions combining in-person lab instruction with state-of-the-art video conferencing technology that allows face-to-face learning.
Students enrolled in this program attend a live synchronous PA Dept. of Health approved distance learning Paramedic training course for initial certification at a local learning site located in Erie, Warren, Crawford, or Mercer County. The 420 hours of classroom time combined with 368 hours of required hospital clinical and field internship gives students a comprehensive prehospital education. Following a progression of didactic and lab sessions followed by in-hospital clinical and field experience helps our students to integrate theory and practice to help prepare them to become competent entry-level Paramedics. Participants who complete this program become eligible to take the National Registry Paramedic certification exams to earn their Pennsylvania and National Registry Paramedic Certifications
